Positive Input Ventilation (PIV)
Positive input ventilation (PIV) units are a type of air ventilator that renews indoor air by forcing stale air out through natural gaps and vents in the building.
The PIV unit is (typically) installed in the loft of a property, with a diffuser mounted into the ceiling. From here it brings in dry air from the loft space which gets pushed into the property, in turn pushing out stale, damp air.
These are a cost effective method to cure damp, mould and condensation within the home.
They can also aid to lower heating bills as dry air is easier to heat than damp air, plus have very low running costs.
With no holes required to be drilled through external walls, these units are suitable for all house types.
Some units also possible to be installed into apartments and flats, but this does require extra vents to be core holed through external walls.
